Now enrolling Kindergarten through 3rd grade for 2026-27

Something Different Is Happening in West Nashville

What influences will shape your child’s heart and mind now and into adulthood? At Petra Christian Academy, we believe any education that does not begin with God is incomplete — and that God calls parents to be the primary educators of their children. We built PCA to help you fulfill that calling.

Petra Christian Academy is a new kindergarten through third grade school rooted in West Nashville, combining the best of homeschooling and traditional schooling. Your child will be surrounded by professional Christian educators and peers from like-minded families, in a Christ-centered, Classical environment. More than just academics, PCA is a place where your child will be known by name, known by God, and given the tools to flourish — academically, spiritually, and as a whole person. Find your family’s place in our community today.

About Us

Petra Christian Academy is a ministry of Charlotte Road Baptist Church dedicated to the education of children in a distinctively Christian, classical environment. What started as a small Mother’s Day Out Program has grown into a Christian School which centers around partnering with parents in the education of their children.

Currently, we offer a two-day hybrid program focused on faith formation, character formation and academics for children in Kindergarten through the third grade. This collaborative model allows families to reclaim family time by combining 12 hours of in-class instruction and 9-12 hours of at home parent-led instruction each week.

Located in West Nashville, Tennessee, Petra Christian Academy offers a Christ-centered classical education for students in Kindergarten through the 3rd grade. Through our collaborative approach, we’re on mission to come along-side Christian families in the education of their children, cultivating wisdom, virtue and a love for what is true, good, and beautiful.

Meet Our Team

Sarah Pruit, M.A.Ed

Lead Teacher

My name is Sarah Pruitt, and I have been a teacher for 15 years. I have had a passion for teaching since I was a child, and The Lord has blessed me with experience in many different grade levels ranging from Pre-K to 6th grade during my teaching career. Watching children’s faces light up when they learn a new skill or finally reach a goal is one of my favorite things about teaching. I believe children thrive when learning is hands-on, structured and fun.

I was born, raised and live in Pegram with my 7 year old daughter. I grew up in a Christian household and gave my life to Jesus when I was 7 years old. My walk with the Lord has been a steady progress over the years and has only grown stronger with life’s challenges, including the sudden loss of my husband when our daughter was 5 months old. The Lord has and continues to show His faithfulness in my life. He has shown me grace and peace through everything and is constantly refining and working on me. He is my Rock, and I can’t wait to start this new chapter at Petra Academy!

Some fun quick facts about me: I love a good DIY- even if it is out of my league, I enjoy being outside making memories with Abigail feeding the goats, chickens and dogs, and I love spending time at the beach and lake with my family.

Pam Frejosky, M.A.M.L.

Administrator

My name is Pam Frejosky, and I have had the privilege of teaching and serving children for over 30 years. I have been blessed to teach and serve children of all ages ranging from Pre-K to college. I have a passion for seeing children discover their identity as God’s child and grow in their knowledge of Him and who He created them to be. I believe the epicenter of a child’s formation is the family and the church. I love Petra Christian Academy because we partner with parents and the local church to develop and nourish a child’s mind, heart and soul.

Much of my career has been in executive level management and higher education. Over the past few years, God has shown me the importance of a biblical worldview and a Christ-Centered education for our children. It’s my goal to come alongside parents in the education and discipleship of their children realizing that they are the future leaders of our world.

Some fun quick facts about me: I have been married for 35 years and have two grandchildren. I have lived in Tennessee for 15 years and consider myself a Nashvillian and love to travel and try new things. I play keys in the church worship team and love to serve in the children’s ministry in our church.

Joe Frejosky, M.A.B.S, M.Div.

Head of School

My name is Joe Frejosky. I am blessed to serve as the Lead Pastor of Charlotte Road Baptist Church and now the Head of School for Petra Christian Academy. I have been in full time ministry for over 30 years and have worked with children, youth and college students in various settings including children’s ministry, youth ministry, Christian camps and Christian colleges. I believe the church alongside parents plays a vital role in the faith formation, character formation and academic training of our children. As a pastor and Head of School, it’s my desire to see students develop a personal relationship with Jesus and thrive in their academic journey. I believe God has placed our church and Petra Christian Academy here for “such a time as this” to prepare our children to be champions for Christ and servant leaders in our world.

Some fun facts about me: I love all sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys. I have been married for 35 years and have a son who is a Pastor in Georgia and two beautiful granddaughters. I love to travel and explore new places in God’s creation.

Kristi Weber

Site Administrator

Greetings, I am Kristi, originally from Ocala, Florida. I have been happily married to Troy Weber for 13 years and a proud mother to two sons, Landen (12) and Brayden (8). In 2023, our family was called to Nashville. It is a privilege for me to hold the position of Site Administrator with Petra. I have dedicated over 10 years to serving as a Leader/Assistant in Christian ministry, showcasing a profound commitment to creating faith-based environments. Prior to this role, I held positions as a Preschool Teacher, Assistant Director of Children’s Ministry/Mother’s Day Out Program, Assistant Director of Operations, and an Accountant Specialist. In these roles, I established a reputation for effective operational oversight and spiritual guidance.

In my view, Christian education transcends mere academics; it is about nurturing the entire child to develop a relationship with and love for Jesus Christ. I am devoted to cultivating students within a biblical worldview and promoting collaboration among the school, family, and church. Whether I am managing daily operations or welcoming students in the hallway, I am dedicated to ensuring that Petra is a place where students are encouraged to grow in their faith and strive to achieve their fullest potential.

In my leisure time, I enjoy serving my church, reading, fishing, hiking, and spending quality time with my family outdoors.

Our Vision

Distinctly Classical

Petra Christian Academy utilizes the classical model of education built upon the three stages of the Trivium: Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric. These three stages follow the natural development of children's minds and help students become lifelong learners. A classical education incorporates the best of great literature, western civilization, and language study.

01

Grammar

Approximately Kindergarten through 5th grade

The grammar stage focuses on what children learn, and it gives children the parts, or “grammar,” of any subject. Children learn facts about geography, history, math, science, and more using songs, chants, and fun memory devices. At a young age, children naturally love word games and rhymes, so the grammar stage captures this momentum and replaces “eeny-meeny-miny-moe” with states and capitals, parts of speech, and more.

02

Logic

Approximately 6th through 8th grade

The logic stage—sometimes called dialectic—focuses on every growing child’s favorite question: Why? The logic stage builds upon a child’s desire to understand the relationships and reasons behind things. Students begin a study in formal and informal logic and apply that to their growing knowledge from the grammar stage.

03

Rhetoric

9th through 12th grade

In the rhetoric stage, students focus on how to clearly and persuasively articulate their beliefs. They apply the rules learned in the Logic stage to the foundational information learned in Grammar stage, expressing their conclusions in clear, elegant, persuasive language. This prepares students to write college-level theses, utilizing their grasp of proper grammar as well their ability to think logically and critically.

Classical education is ultimately about learning how to learn and learning to love the truth. Classical education equips students for mastery rather than simply passing a test.

Distinctly Christian

1

Partnering With Parents

Rather than replacing the home, PCA works to partner with parents as they take primary responsibility for the discipleship of their children.
2

Christian Teachers

Teachers do not merely deliver knowledge — they instruct through their lives and character as well.
3

Christian Worldview

God is the foundation. We are made in His image. Our greatest solution is the complete person and work of Jesus Christ.
4

Formation & Information

Education happens through both information and formation — modeling and instilling the love of excellence through joyful, high standards.

Distinctly Collaborative

A collaborative education allows for a unique collaboration between parents and the classroom teacher. The aim is to combine the best elements of a private Christian education and homeschooling. Petra Christian provides a comprehensive curriculum — students attend school two days a week in a classroom setting with professional, qualified teachers, then receive work to be completed at home with a parent on alternate days.
